Batman: The Return of Bruce Wayne #4 [2010] by Grant Morrison

BATMAN: THE RETURN OF BRUCE WAYNE #4

DARK NIGHT, DARK RIDER
Following the events of Final Crisis, Bruce Wayne took down Darkseid however not before Darkseid shot him with his Omega beams and he was sent back to the Paleolithic era of the DC universe and meets up with Anthro the First Man. During his time in the Paleolithic era, Bruce fought off Vandal Savage before jumping forward to the Puritan era of Gotham City.

Bruce does not realize that he has been turned into a Doomsday weapon by Darkseid aimed at the 21st century. His next stop flash forwards him to 1718 where Bruce fights against the elusive Blackbeard by allying himself with the descendants of Anthro.

Now we approach the Wild West era and bounty hunter Jonah Hex arrives in Gotham City with an offer from Vandal Savage to take down a masked rider we all know as Batman. These events push Bruce forward towards the present.

Seems like everytime Bruce falls into the water he flash forwards through time. Artist Georges Jeanty seems to bring a very amateurish artwork to this book compared to the previous issues. However writer Grant Morrison seems to be putting in clues within these issues that expand the Batman mythology. Looking forward to how these events unfold and the future of the Batman books in the near future.
