Devil Comics Review | Star Wars [2017] The Last Jedi

Following The Force Awakens, the Resistance and Rey searches for Luke Skywalker following the death of Han Solo to stop the First Order and Kylo Ren. The Last Jedi is a chase movie from beginning to end. The First Order is hunting down the Resistance fleet by trailing their hyperdrives. The Resistance ships fall one by one until they can escape to the planet of Crait.

Rey attempts to convince Luke Skywalker to train her and discovers he created Kylo Ren. She is connected to Kylo Ren through Supreme Leader Snoke and is manipulated to believe Kylo Ren can be turned. Rey confronts Kylo only to brought to Snoke who is killed by Kylo Ren so he can be Supreme Leader. Now Kylo Ren and the First Order head to Crait to destroy the Resistance.

On the planet the Resistance are cornered until Luke Skywalker arrives and confronts Kylo Ren who discovers Luke was a Force projection so the Resistance can escape and fight another day. Luke becomes one with the Force as the stage is set for Episode IX for a new dawn. We discover Rey's parents were drunks, Snoke maybe a Jedi Prime, and Leia can use the Force. Overall with some highlights within the film it falls flat and doesn't resonate with the overall franchise. Nothing new was added to the mythos but much was taken away without any justice.
