Devil Comics Reviews | Phoenix Resurrection [2018] The Return of Jean Grey

Marvel Comics decided to bring back Jean Grey as Fox Studios plans to release X-Men: Dark Phoenix later this year. The original Jean Grey perished during Grant Morrison’s run on the X-Men in 2004. Brian Michael Bendis brought a younger Jean Grey back only to perish in her own series when the Phoenix returned. Now the adult Jean Grey is positioned to return and launch a new X-Men: Red series in February.

Cerebro detects unusual readings on three different points on the planet including at the Hellfire Club, Mount Saint Francis, and the North Pole. Kitty Pryde breaks the X-Men into three teams to investigate each location. Each location has its own threats until they notice something bright in the sky. The X-Men deal with the sudden arrival of Magneto who disappears as fast as he came. In some other reality Jean Grey is a waitress at a diner when Magneto visits in plain clothes along with Wolverine as Path.

Kitty Pryde discovers the grave of Jean Grey is empty and asks Emma Frost for help which leads them to New Mexico. The X-Men discover a portal to the White Hot Room where it is a resting place for the hosts of the Phoenix. They send Old Man Logan inside to draw Jean Grey out but the Phoenix tempts her back to the false world. Jean Grey returns and says goodbye to her husband Scott Summers one more time. The younger Jean Grey who was destroyed by the Phoenix also returns and meets her older counterpart. Their stories will be told in titles X-Men: Red and X-Men: Blue.
