Wolverine: Road to Hell #1 [2010]

WOLVERINE: ROAD TO HELL #1
This issue serves a prelude to three Marvel titles coming out this fall by their respective writers: Wolverine, Daken: Dark Wolverine, and X-23.

WOLVERINE
FALLING
Jason Aaron brings you a short Wolverine tale falling as he remembers various aspects of his life coming back to haunt him.

DAKEN: DARK WOLVERINE AND X-23
BRACE FOR IMPACT
Writers Dan Way and Marjorie Liu bring you the son and clone of Wolverine together within one story on a collusion course on the final two-page spread.

ADVICE FOR WRITERS BY MARJORIE LIU
- Describes writing as not rocket science but common sense
- Attitude is half the battle and knowledge is the other half
- Action scenes show some aspect of the character
- Set-up may be stupid however everything you need to know is right there
- Must be fearless and thicken your hide against critics and rejections and requires serious self-motivation

UNCANNY X-FORCE
THE FIRST DAY OF THE REST OF YOUR LIFE
Rick Remender (Punisher) brings the new incarnation of X-Force together as Deadpool is sent on a mission to Egypt that lead to the first story arc. The mutant population is down to about 200 so an aggressive strikeforce is assembled to protect them. Wolverine and Warren Worthington are co-captains of the team while Worthington provides the funding for the team and the team is setup within the mountains of Sedona, Northern Arizona called Caven X. All the characters have been personally tampered with one way or another.

- Logan became Wolverine through the Weapon Plus program.
- Worthington was turned from Angel to Archangel by Apocalypse
- Psylocke brings the psionic firepower to the team
- Fantomex was the mutant assassin turned international thief that was bred to be a Super Sentinal agent of the Weapon Plus program.
- Deadpool plays the sleuth looking for signs of brewing trouble and Worthington brought him in to keep him off the streets. He was the reject of the Weapon Plus program and never made officially an X-Men. Now his made part of the Uncanny X-Force family.

Writer Rick Remender describes X-Force as a proactive and aggressive group consisting of Wolverine, Archangel, Deadpool, Fantomex, and Psylocke. A group of characters stained by evil in the past is the common thread that connects them together. He describes the team as a natural conclusion and a natural thing for them.

These short stories serve as a prelude to their main series and adds a sense of foreshadowing of what to expect with these upcoming issues.
