Action Comics #900 [2011]


ACTION COMICS #900
British writer Paul Cornell brings his Lex Luthor adventure Black Ring to an end with a 50-page story along with additional story by screenwriters David Goyer (The Dark Knight) and Richard Donner (Superman). The milestone issue debuts with three covers by David Finch, Alex Ross, and Adam Hughes. The 96-page issue ends one story and starts another. Writer Paul Cornell finishes his epic Black Ring arc featuring Lex Luthor with god-like powers taking on the Man of Steel and continuing the Reign of Doomsday Saga.

THE BLACK RING FINALE HIGHLIGHTS
- Superman faces against Lex Luthor with God-like powers from the Phantom Zone
- Luthor makes Superman view many personal losses to break him
- Luthor discovers Superman’s greatest loss which reveals his secret identity of Clark Kent
- Luthor combined with the Phanton Zone alien rids the universe of negative emotion
- Death of the Endless, Vandal Savage, Red Lanterns, Batman, and Deathstroke are blissful
- Luthor’s infinite powers requires him never to do anything negative like destroying Superman
- Superman provokes Luthor to kill him so he loses his God-like powers
- Superman discovers Luthor is behind the Reign of Doomsday while working with General Lane
- Luthor disappears into the void as the Lois robot finds her freedom
- Superman takes Luthor’s ship and heads towards the cloak ship facing Doomsday

REIGN OF DOOMSDAY HIGHLIGHTS
- Steel, Superboy, Supergirl, Eradictor, and the Cyborg-Superman face Doomsday
- Superman arrives only to discover Doomsday imprisoned on the cloaked ship
- The Cyborg-Superman reveals each of the battles fought were different Doomsdays

LIFE SUPPORT
- Damon Lindelof (Lost) and artist Ryan Sook present a tale of Jor-El
- Jor-El hires a brilliant associate to develop life support within a small sphere
- The sphere will be used for life support to send Kal-El to Earth

AUTOBIOGRAPHY
- Paul Dini and RB Silva (Jimmy Olsen) present an alien being inhabiting within the Fortress
- The alien Sarva travels the cosmos who was viewed as both God and Devil

FRIDAY NIGHT IN THE 21ST CENTURY
- Geoff Johns (Blackest Night, Flashpoint) and Gary Frank present a Lois and Clark tale
- Lois uses the Legion ring to invite the Legion of Super-Heroes to their apartment

THE INCIDENT
- David Goyer (Blade) and Miguel Sepulveda bring Superman to Camp David
- Superman is targeted by snipers armed with kryptonite bullets
- Superman explains to the National Security Advisor why he flew into Tehran
- Superman renounces his U.S Citizenship so his actions do not represent U.S policy

ONLY HUMAN
- Richard Donner and Derek Hoffman present Superman competing with the SuperSuit EX9000
- Cliff Carter offers ordinary people superpowers provided by his company SuperTech
- Superman and Cliff Carter race around Metropolis to see who is faster
- The EX9000 is leeching power from a train then a prison endangering innocent civilians
- Superman pushes Cliff into a power plant which siphons off power from his EX9000
