Joe Quesada writes Tony Stark as he takes on Whiplash leading to his identity
to be revealed to the world to see. Tony has relationship problems with Rumiko
Fujikawa which is accelerated after his identity is revealed. He consults with
Jocasta after sending his friends away so they are protect and being fired from
Star/Fujikawa for breach of contract. Tony is also dismissed from the Avengers.
Tony
falls off the wagon again and fights the Mandarin. However everything was a
virtual dream and Tony wakes up after his battle with Whiplash. He discovers he
suffered a heart attack and his armor is alive. Overall the story was one of
Joe Quesada’s first before taking the reigns of Editor-In-Chief. Quesada has
gotten better as a writer over the years and it stays out during his reign at
Marvel Comics.
