CAPTAIN AMERICA: LIVING LEGEND TRADE PAPERBACK

The limited series was supposed to be released along with Captain America: The First Avenger film however got delayed for 2 years. Living Legend begins with the Russian perspective of Steve Rogers. During WWII the Russians use a German rocket scientist to attempt to land on the moon. In the present a space station implodes and sends a message: Volkov.

Volkov was a Russian soldier Captain America saved during WWII and was shot into space in 1968. Volkov brings something back from the Moon and returns to Earth however changed and is imprisoned As Captain America investigates the fallen space station over Russian he encounters a survivor Doctor Fox from the crash. Captain America plans on destroying what’s left of the station before the Russians figure out how to weaponize it.

Doctor Fox discovers the shield of Captain America is the only thing from preventing them from turning into metallic creatures. Captain America faces Volkov who tells him the metallic creatures are the dark energy entity’s offspring from space. Volkov want to die which he does. Overall the story had potential however it is not worth waiting 2 years for this story.
