E55: Uncanny Avengers #1 | Thor #4 | Wolverines #4 Reviews [Devil Comics Entertainment]

The new Uncanny Avengers #1 takes place following the events of Avengers and X-Men: Axis series. Sabretooth and the new Captain America join the team as the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver head to Counter-Earth to discover the identity of their real father. The Unity Squad follows as each of the characters end up at different locations on Counter-Earth. Sabretooth ends up facing the High Evolutionary. The series could have easily continued with its original numbering however being a first issue it seems disjointed as the new characters face off against an unknown terrority. It would have been better if the new Uncanny Avengers characters faced against a similar and familiar villain in familiar terrority giving the characters a chance to jell with the reader.

Odinson wakes up on Asgardia missing an arm and now faces the new Thor face-to-face in Thor #4. They both battle for control of the hammer until Odinson realizes it has chosen someone worthy. Thor kisses Odinson and together they take on the Frost Giants as Odinson finally accepts the new Thor.  This is the first meeting between the new Thor and the rest of the Marvel Universe as the Avengers make a cameo appearance.

The Wolverines arrive to save Fantomelle from Siphon in Wolverines #4. They take her back and explain their plans to break into Mr. Sinister’s Fortress. Meanwhile Sinister plans to break through the adamantium to resurrect Wolverine. Realizing the Wolverines are on their way, Sinister opens a time-door set three hours into the future to complete his plans. The next issue is the finale to the first story arc as the Wolverines confront Sinister.
