During
the first act of Justice League:
Darkseid War, Superman becomes the God of Strength on Apokolips and returns
to Earth. He takes out an alien which infects the city of Metropolis. Jimmy
Olsen asks for Superman for help however he throws him out of a diner leaving
him unprotected against the alien infection. As he gets infected, Jimmy still
persuades Superman to help. Superman freezes the city and frees it from the
alien infection. Now Superman realizes he needs help while the world believes he
has a new costume and everything is normal. Overall this is the weakest issue
of the Darkseid War one-shots as it
seems to be more of a filler than an actual supplement to the story. The Batman
and the Flash one-shots gave us a reason why they are and need to be gods while the
Superman treats his new status quo as a disease.
