Devil Comics Review | Aquaman: Rebirth #1 [2016]

The last time Aquaman was worth reading was when Peter David was writing it. Now we will see Aquaman embark on a new political role as he brings Atlantis in the global community beginning with an Atlantean Embassy. The Rebirth issue begins with Aquaman confronting the Deluge who are a Atlantean xenophobic terrorist. This issue is narrated by Black Manta who plans on destroying everything Aquaman loves beginning with Mera and the Embassy. Writer Dan Abnett mirrors Aquaman and Atlantis to Muslims and the Islamic world. The prejudices and bias we associate because we do not understand them. This issue is very well written and the upcoming series is worth following.
