Devil Comics Review | Green Lanterns: Rebirth #1 [2016]

Hype Writer Geoff Johns brought Hal Jordan and the Green Lanterns back to new heights beginning with Green Lantern: Rebirth in 2004. Flash forward to the New 52, Geoff Johns introduced Simon Baz and Jessica Cruz. Now these two characters will star in their own series written by Sam Humphries as they take on the Red Lanterns.

Rehash An unknown Guardian who is hunted by the Dominators carries a new mysterious ring. An unknown aircraft arrives on Earth and signals new Green Lanterns Simon Baz and Jessica Cruz to the scene where they confront a Manhunter. Both of the failed to take down the Manhunter however it was only a test by Hal Jordan who merges their Lantern batteries together so they can collaborate better. Now they will be trained by the Justice League when the Green Lantern Corps are not around. We learn following the Blackest Night and Brightest Day the Red Dawn will begin.

Feedback This Rebirth title is better than the Superman and Batman as it brings in the legacy of the Green Lantern Corps. The Corps are increasing in number because a threat is looming ahead. The series focuses on two minority characters which were introduced within the New 52 and this title pays tribute to their legacy.
