X-Men #2 [2010] Curse of the Mutants

X-MEN #2

“YOU DON’T DIG UP HITLER TO GET RID OF SADDAM HUSSEIN!”
After the events with The Death of Dracula, the vampires are united under his son Xarus and prepared to strike against the mutants. A Kamikaze vampire blows himself up infecting San Francisco civilians as well as the depowered Jubilee with a manufactured vampire virus.

Wolverine, Colossus, and Storm go hunting for the source of the virus and find a safehouse. They are ambushed by several vampires until Blade shows up. He notifies them that Dracula is dead and the X-Men formulate a plan to bring Dracula back to fight against his son Xarus.

Jubilee is taken to Utopia to be examined by Dr. Nemesis however the infection is drawing her off the island. She escapes and heads towards Xarus who turns her into a vampire. Xarus is planning on increasing the vampire ranks with mutants to create an unstoppable force.

This issue really brought out the talents of writer Victor Gischler to the forefront. He really gives you your money’s worth of stories and Paco Medina gives us his best work. Really enjoying this series as it picks up the pace from last issue which suffered from a slowdown due to set-up.
