The mythology of Spider-Man is expanded with Clayton Cole
who could have prevented the death of Uncle Ben if he himself could have
stopped the burglar. Clayton also gets the first autograph of the Amazing
Spider-Man. After the death of Ben Parker, Peter raises money as Spider-Man by
continuing to do shows where Quentin Beck (Mysterio) was responsible for the
special effects. Now Clayton wants to imitate Spider-Man as Clash and wants to
spar with him one-to-one.
Aunt May discovers Peter runs out at night. Peter
convinces her that he is working on a science project and gets a job as a
photojournalist at the Daily Bugle. At the Science Fair Peter encounters the
Clash and the two battle leaving Aunt May with a negative impression on
Spider-Man. Clash
is known as a copycat to Spider-Man thanks to the Daily Bugle. He attacks the
Bugle while Peter is inside changing into Spider-Man. Peter fails to stop Clash
and doesn’t know what to do next. Peter
finds the courage to defeat Clash through Aunt May and becomes determined by
the memory of Uncle Ben to become the Amazing Spider-Man.
