After discovering his son is alive, Darth Vader tracks down his home on
Tatooine with Doctor Aphra. Darth Vader watches the twin suns setting as he
examines the home of Luke Skywalker and later destroys it. Darth Vader
confiscated contraband from the Son-tuul Pride while Aphra and her bounty
hunters plan on stealing it.
Darth Vader #8 Aphra creates a diversion using an asteroid so her bounty hunters can steal contraband from an Imperial ship. The plan was set in motion by Darth Vader so he can carry out his schemes. Tagge provides Vader an inspector to help track down the missing fortune.
Darth Vader #9 Imperial Inspector Thanoth investigates the fortune that was stolen as Aphra heads to Naboo searching for a military clerk Commodex Than.

travels to Naboo to discover Padme Amidala was indeed pregnant with a son. Now Darth
Vader and Doctor Aphra continue to track Luke however Inspector Thanoth is
spying on them.
Stars Wars: Darth Vader #11 Aphra is gaining the location of Luke Skywalker from the information broker The Ante. She discovers his location as Darth Vader and Inspector Thanoth arrive to capture her. Darth Vader’s theft of the credits will be revealed if he doesn’t kill Aphra. She manages to escape her death by withholding information on Luke Skywalker’s location from Darth Vader until later however she is surrounded by Inspector Thanoth and his Imperial forces.

Vader manages to redirect the assault on Aphra while they direct their
attention on the Rebels. Vader and Thanoth manage to stop the Rebels instead of
solving the theft of the credits. Vader meets Aphra and discovers the location
of Luke Skywalker. The search for Luke continues in the first Star Wars and Darth Vader crossover: Star
Wars: Vader Down. The entire first year of Darth Vader was discovering the
identity of the pilot and confirming he is his son. Now the crossover continues
the chase where Vader falls behind enemy lines in search for his son.
