Supergirl Season 1: Who is Reactron? Who does Lucy Lane become?

Both Reactron and Lucy Lane made an appearance in the latest episode of Supergirl. Reactron recently appeared in the Superman: New Krypton storyline where he is powered by gold kryptonite and partnered with Metallo who is powered by green kryptonite. Before the destruction of Krypton, the city of Kandor and its residents were taken by Brainiac. Later the city of Kandor was freed and evolved into a new planet in Earth’s solar system New Krypton. 

Reactron attacked New Krypton which includes Kara’s parents Zor-El and Alura. Reactron kills Zor-El and later himself which causes a chain reaction destroying New Krypton along with Alura. Supergirl loses her parents for the second time due to the actions of Reactron.

Lucy Lane the little sister of Lois was first introduced as a romantic interest for Jimmy Olsen in Superman’s Pal Jimmy Olsen #36 (1959). She was later introduced in Supergirl #35 as Superwoman and played an active part in the Superman: New Krypton story. 

Both these characters became highly influential in the comics which will most likely transition into the new Supergirl television series. The possibility of the return of Kara’s biological parents and the formation of New Krypton could be in future story arcs.
