CAPTAIN AMERICA #615.1
Marvel Point One starts with a new Captain America by the name of David Rickford who has been hand-picked by a corporation secretly headed by Nick Fury. Steve Rogers and Sharon Carter discover Rickford is kidnapped by A.I.M Agents who want to create a new M.O.D.O.K following the events of World War Hulks. Rogers rescues Rickford and asks him to step down as Captain America. Sharon Carter confronts Nick Fury who is attempting to manipulate Rogers into putting the mask back on.
Marvel Point One issue takes place following the events of the Trial of Captain America which ended with James “Bucky” Barnes Not Guilty under the American justice system however found guilty by the Russians. The Russians locked him away leaving the United States without a Captain America. Barnes now must fight for his life inside a Russian Gulag.
The finale will bring back both Steve Rogers and James Barnes together again with Captain America and Bucky #620 in July just in time for the Captain America: The First Avenger movie by Marvel Studios. Steve Rogers returns as the Sentinel of Liberty during that same month starting with a brand new Captain America #1 by Ed Brubaker and Steve McNiven. Very happy that Marvel is not starting Captain America over again but extending the current volume 1 series with his original partner Bucky and giving Steve Rogers a solo title with Captain America. This issue has one of the most beautiful covers I have seen in quite a while by cover artist Daniel Acuña.
