SPIDER-MAN: THE RETURN OFANTI-VENOM PREMIERE HARDCOVER
Ever since Dan Slott set the pace on the Amazing Spider-Man, each issue has been building the character and the supporting cast. The highlight within this trade is Crossroads where the night Aunt May and Peter Parker lost Uncle Ben comes back in a different way with Betty Brant. Anti-Venom goes after his creator philanthropist Martin Li who is really the drug lord Mr.Negative. However so is the mysterious Wraith who reveals to be the sister of the original Wraith Jean DeWolff. Meanwhile Carlie Cooper discovers the Jean DeWolff Wraith is a disguise from a lost Mysterio case and all evidence points to Captain Yuri Watanabe as the new Wraith.
While going after Mr. Negative, Anti-Venom runs into Spider-Man who he captures and tries to unsuccessfully unmask. Mr. Negative has used ancient Chinese statues to smuggle his drugs into the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Anti-Venom kidnaps Spider-Man to the Metropolitan Museum of Art to reveal Martin Li is truly Mr.Negative.
As Anti-Venom battles Mr. Negative, the mysterious Wraith team-up with Spider-Man to take down Mr. Negative. The Wraith transmits information letting the world know Martin Li is really Mr. Negative. Finally, Carlie confronts Captain Watanabe about being the Wraith however doesn’t turn her in.
CROSSROADS
Betty Brant is attacked and her friends surround her including Mayor J. Jonah Jameson. Spider-Man hunts the culprit responsible going through every criminal lead however spots short after Aunt May calls. She is concerned Peter is not there for his friends and family ever since the night Uncle Ben died. Peter rushes back to be with Betty and later catches the culprit.
I’LL NEVER LET YOU GO
Jay Jameson and Aunt May decide to move from New York to Boston while Peter says good-bye just before the events of Spider-Island takes place.
