SECRET INVASION TRADE PAPERBACK

Brian Michael Bendis followed up his House of M, which decimated the mutant population, with Secret Invasion. The story revolved around the Skrull Empire who has infiltrated the highest levels of governments and heroes so they can quickly take over the planet. The heroes themselves are divided by the events of Civil War. The ending of the epic promised change in the Marvel Universe that no one saw coming.

An alien Skrull ship crash lands in the Savage Land, while both the Mighty Avengers and the New Avengers investigate the crash. The Skrulls quickly take out the orbiting S.W.O.R.D. HQ, S.H.I.E.L.D., the Raft Prison, Thunderbolts Mountain, the Baxter Building, and Tony Stark’s armor. The Skrull ship contains heroes wearing their previous costumes and resurrected heroes including Captain America and Jean Grey. The Skrull Armada has arrived and the invasion has begun however Nick Fury and his Secret Warriors stand ready to defend Earth.
