TV Review: The River [2012]

Reality television personality Dr. Emmet Cole is missing in the Amazon after six months searching for the source of magic in the area. Now his wife Tess and his son Lincoln who are funded by a television crew search for answers along the same trail as Emmet. The producer of the series became obsessed with the idea of nature run amok and animals taking over humans. The River premiered on February 7, 2012 on ABC as a midseason replacement.
