Ant-Man Annual begins following
the events of Avengers: Rage of Ultron,
where Hank Pym is consumed by Ultron and is lost in space. Scott Lang remembers
his last adventure with him as they deal with Egghead and his assistant Raz
Malhotra who was forced into helping him. Egghead acquired A.I Avengers which
was abandoned by Hank years ago. Giant Man and Ant Man defeat the A.I Avengers
and captures Egghead. Scott finally gets the answers he was looking for including
why Hank allowed him to keep his helmet. In the present the Wasp brings Scott
the Last Will and Testament of Hank which includes the lab within his helmet.
Later Scott gives the Giant Man suit to Raz who believes he will make an
excellent hero. The annual allows Scott to process the loss of Hank and
introduce a new ethnic character inheriting the mantle of Giant Man.
Ant-Man: Last Days #1 Before the events of Secret Wars begins, Ant-Man spent his last days stealing an Asgardian artifact back for his boss from the notorious drug lord the Slug. Scott Lang discovers his boss was Miss Patriot who was a sidekick to Captain America after Steve Rogers. She runs Valhalla Villas a retirement community for both super heroes and super villains. The former Miss Patriot uses the Asgardian artifact to make everyone young so they can all be heroes one last time before the end of the world.
Astonishing Ant-Man #1 Darren Cross stole Cassie Lang’s heart so he could have her Pym Particles. A new villain Power Broker offers the Hench App to get rid of Darren’s problems and sends the Whirlwind against Scott Lang the Ant-Man. While Whirlwind takes on Ant-Man, Power Broker asks Darren $1.2 Billion to assassinate him because the Hench App is only a demo. We discover at the end of the issue Scott Lang is back in jail. Writer Nick Spencer brings humor to the series and packs a punch without skipping on the dialogue and action. For the price of the book it was worth it.
Astonishing Ant-Man #2 Machinesmith and Grizzy moonlight with Augustine Cross on a job while Ant-Man has a security job for Darla Deerling his ex-girlfriend. Ant-Man and Darla both take on the Magician who is trying to kill them. The Magician’s father was imprisoned by the original Giant-Man and he was trying to live up to his name. Darla and Scott get the closure in their relationship they needed from their time in FF. However it was all a ploy to boost Darla’s reality television show and the Magician was hired using the Hench app. Later Sam Wilson as Captain America shows up and has a job for Ant-Man.
Astonishing Ant-Man #3 Sam Wilson gets Scott Lang to steal Giganto from a SHIELD ship. Giganto escapes and heads towards the city but Ant-Man shrinks him down to size. David Cross creates a Lackey app to compete with Power Broker’s Hench app while the Beetle comes back to see Ant-Man.
