Hype One year after The Force Awakens, Disney releases the
prequel to Episode IV A New Hope
where a Rebel Squad steals the Empire’s Death Star schematics. According to the
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Official
Visual Story Guide, the Rebel Squad consists of a droid, freelance assassin,
spiritual warrior, rebel soldier, and two alien warriors along with Felicity
Jones’ character. The movie will also have a cameo of Darth Vader who will be
in the same uniform from A New Hope.
The
Rebel Alliance was formed after the Clone Wars to restore democracy after the
Emperor took it away with his Empire. The Empire fell during the Battle of
Endor. The movie will begin as the Rebel Alliance discovers the Empire is
building planet destroying planet called the Death Star. They send a group of
Rebels to steal the plans to the Death Star to discover if there is any
weakness. Rogue One will introduce new characters and vehicles in the expanding
Star Wars Universe.

Orson Krennic finally finds Galen Erso to help him finish the Death Star.
Following the confrontation, Galen’s wife is shot and his daughter Jyn escapes
with Saw Gerrera. Years later Galen sends a message to Saw via a rogue pilot
concerning the super weapon he has been working on. The Rebels who want her to
find her father to verify the super weapon so they track down Saw. Jyn sees a
message from her father revealing a weakness within the Death Star. Jyn and her
Rebels track down her father who was killed during an X-Wing bombing raid. She
is taken to Yavin 4 to discuss plans on stopping the Empire. The Rebellion is
unconvinced they stand a chance so Jyn and her Rebels decide to steal the Death
Star plans on Scarif. The final battle ensues leading to the events of Star
Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.
This is one of the best Star Wars films next to Empire Strikes Back with the resurrection of Peter Cushing as Grand Admiral Moff Tarkin and a young Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia playing vital parts to revival the magic of the 1977’s Star Wars film.
