GREEN LANTERN: EMERALD WARRIORS #7
Both Guy Gardner and Red Lantern Bleez face-off against Zandor and the mind-controlled Sodam Yat on the Planet Karlok. Previously Krona removed Ion from Sodam Yat and replaced his ring with something that would be able to drain the Corps’ rings. Now trapped Guy Gardner uses the residual of the Red Lanterns with the help of Bleez to escape and rescue other fellow beings trapped on Karlok. Kilwog and Arisia return to join the fight however both Zandor and Sodam Yat escape with an unconscious Bleez.
The issue serves as both a conclusion to Last Will and a prelude to War of the Green Lanterns. However the story serves more of the former than the latter as we are introduced to the Unknown Sectors and the threat that exists within however the overall game plan has yet to be revealed. One could easily overlook the first 7 issues of Green Lantern: Emerald Warriors and enjoy War of the Green Lanterns as it begins next month. Geoff Johns considers this series as one of his favorites under Peter Tomasi however the justification of a third Green Lantern title is overkill.
