Locke & Key: Crown of Shadows [2009-2010] by Joe Hill

The third book following Locke & Key: Head Games revealed Zack Wells seemed to have several alias including Lucas (Luke) Caravaggio and Dodge. He killed Elle’s mother and has removed the memories from her mind by using one of the keys. Dodge begins to remove memories from her son Rufus however his toy soldiers seem to be alive.

Now Dodge returns through the same door he pushed Sam through to ask him whether he has found the key to the Black Door. Sam refuses to help Dodge leading to both of them battling with their souls and over the body of Dodge. The commotion wakes up Nina Locke who finds a key left by Dodge who fled hastily.

Kinsey learns her father’s name is written on a wall in the Drowning Cave where she finds a locked door with the number 1 on the front. Her friends included Scot, Jackie, and Jamal accompany her and discover the writing on the wall however they are trapped in the cave. They finally climb out and we find out that Rendell Locke and Dodge were friends back in 1988 and there is a decaying body lying below the waters of the Drowning Cave.

- Bode and her mother Nina Locke find another key in the bathroom which fixes broken items
- Tyler finds the Omega Key which opens the Black Door within the urn of his father Rendell Locke
