GREEN LANTERN VOLUME 2: REVENGE OF THE BLACK HAND HARDCOVER

On Earth Sinestro reveals to Hal Jordan the Guardians of the Universe are planning on replacing the Green Lantern Corps. The Indigo Tribe arrives and captures both Sinestro and Hal Jordan and takes them back to their planet. The Black Hand cycles through the emotional spectrum while speaking with Jordan and channels Will which Jordan uses to power his ring. While escaping and tracking down Sinestro, Jordan finds a statue of Abin Sur and discovers he was the Indigo Tribe’s savior and creator. Sinestro arrives having been transformed into a member of the Indigo Tribe.

Hal Jordan locates the Indigo Central Battery to switch off the power source for the Indigo Tribe. Hal finds out the word “Nok” means “Compassion be with you” form the keeper of the Indigo Light Natromo who reveals he created the Indigo Tribe with the Green Lantern Abin Sur. Natromo reveals the Indigo Tribe including their current member Black Hand are all villains who found compassion. Abin Sur created the Indigo Tribe to defeat the Guardians of the Universe. However Natromo discovers Abin Sur is dead so he shuts down the Indigo Central Battery just as the Indigo Tribe arrives. Now the villains who make up the Indigo Tribe are free.

The former members of the Indigo Tribe pursue both Hal Jordan and Sinestro. Hal Jordan and Natromo attempt to repair the Indigo Central Battery while Sinestro takes on the former Indigo Tribe. However Natromo cannot repair the Indigo Battery without a spark. Iroque the child killer of Abin Sur’s daughter arrives with a spark of sadness within her ring. The Indigo Tribe comes online except for William Hand who falls to his death from escaping from the pursuing Indigo ring.

Hal Jordan asks the Indigo Tribe to release Sinestro so they can find out what the Guardians are up to. Back on Oa the Guardians of the Universe are searching for the Book of the Black to locate the first lantern to lead the third army. After the death of William Hand, he returns as a Black Lantern ready to seek his revenge.

GREEN LANTERN ANNUAL #1

The Guardians of the Universe decided to build a Third Army after failing twice with the Manhunters and the Green Lantern Corps. They believe emotion was behind chaos so they built the Manhunters. Later they believed it was fear that created chaos so the Green Lantern Corps was formed. Now the Guardians believe free will is behind chaos and a Third Army must restore order.

The Guardians unlock the Chamber of Shadows to release the First Lantern and the Hidden Ones. The Hidden Ones were to watch over the Chamber of Shadows so the First Lantern will never be released. The Guardians and the Hidden Ones battle one another for the First Lantern. The Guardians take the First Lantern and reseal the Chamber of Shadows containing the remaining Hidden Ones.

Hal Jordan and Sinestro battle Black Hand however the Guardians arrive and charge him up. Both Hal Jordan and Sinestro are lost and the ring merged to seek another replacement Green Lantern. Black Hand is imprisoned into the Chamber of Shadows.

The Guardians use the power of the First Lantern to create the Third Army out of their own flesh. The new member of the Third Army assimilates a human removing his heart and mouth and making him another member. The Guardians prepare to establish order throughout the universe by eliminating free will.
