RED LANTERNS VOLUME 3: RISE OF THE
THIRD ARMY HARDCOVER
After the
Red Lanterns deal with the Third Army, Atrocitus heads back home to Ryutt so he
can use the Manhunters against them. He encounters an Alpha Manhunter and
destroys him while using the blood magic on Ryutt to control the other
Manhunters. Atrocitus sends the Manhunters to Oa while he goes to the ancient
cradle of the Guardians on Maltus. He discovers a message for Krona who was the
mastermind behind the reprogramming of the First Army the Manhunters and the
events of Second Army in War of the
Green Lanterns.
Rankorr
heads back to Earth with Bleez to exact revenge on the person who first enraged
him. Bleez tortures him by putting hot blood into his spleen so he would suffer
for years. Rankorr wants to end this quickly and kills him. Bleez attempts to
seduces Rankorr however he request her leaving Bleez his enemy. Meanwhile back
on Ysmault, Ratchet the Guardian of Red Lantern encounters the original
Inversions who were killed by Atrocitus eons ago.
After 16
issues writer Peter Milligan seems to be pacing and storytelling the Red
Lanterns well as all the plotlines seamlessly move in sequence. The events of
this issue lead to the Green Lantern
Corps Annual #1.
