UNCANNY X-FORCE: THE DARK ANGEL SAGA BOOK 1 PREMIERE HARDCOVER
The story mirrors The Dark Phoenix Saga from the 1980’s by writer Chris Claremont and artist John Byrne. Promotional ads show the Age of Apocalypse Nightcrawler will head the team of X-Force without either Archangel or Wolverine.
UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCES follows the events of Deathlok Nation, Deathlok stands guard of the World while Archangel who as slowly gaining dominance over Warren Worthington is imprisoned within a memory by Psylocke inside his head. Meanwhile Deadpool canvas a top secret military base involved in the creation of stealth nukes and disappears prompting X-Force to investigate. Psylocke does an astral reconnaissance and faces Amahl Farouk AKA Shadow King.
Amahl controls all of X-Force except for Psylocke and Fantomex whose mind is guarded due to the telepathic dampening plates. Wolverine slices both of Fantomex arms however it is only an illusion as Psylocke proceeds to the astral plane to go toe-to-toe with the Shadow King. She returns to reality and must stop Warren from releasing the stealth nukes headed for Utopia. She enters her mind only to find that the Shadow King has already released Archangel from his prison within Warren’s mind.
Archangel cuts off Shadow King’s head, erases Psylocke’s memory, and stops the nukes before they launch by killing an innocent soldier who was no longer under the influence of the Shadow King. X-Force leaves the base unaware that Archangel is controlling Warren’s body.
