SPIDER-MAN: SPIDER-ISLAND PREMIERE HARDCOVER

Someone gave the idea to the Jackal to genetically manipulate bedbugs to give New Yorkers spider-powers. Now the Jackal with his enforcers the Tarantula and the Spider-King gather at a secret meeting for very crime family in New York. Chaos erupts between the crime families and the Jackal and his enforcers take advantage of the situation. Later in his secret lair, the Jackal fills the Spider-King with two thousand mutated spider embryos.

Julia Carpenter has now become the new Madame Web following the events of the Grim Hunt. She has now teamed up with Shang-Chi who taught Peter martial arts so he will be prepared. However Peter has lost his spider-sense making him vulnerable for the upcoming events of Spider-Island.

As the events of the Spider-Island unfolds, Mayor J. Jonah Jameson locks down the city activating his Anti-Spider Patrol while the Avengers arrive to deal with the menace. Spider-Man arrives however his teammates from both the Avengers and FF ask him to leave because he will only get in the way. Now as a civilian and a native New Yorker, Peter Parker gathers other New Yorkers to assist the Avengers and FF with civilians running amok with spider-powers.

Carlie Cooper has revealed to Peter she has spider-powers and becomes a “Spider-Cop.”She discovers Miles Warren is behind the spider-plague and takes Peter to investigate an old abandoned laboratory at Empire State University.
