Fear Itself: Hulk Premiere HC [2011] by Jeff Parker


FEAR ITSELF: HULK HARDCOVER
Fear Itself takes hold of the United States,Commander Steve Rogers sends the Red Hulk to New York City expecting it to be hit like Washington D.C. Avengers Tower is evacuated as Ben Grimm has become one of the Serpent’s Worthy. The Red Hulk takes on Ben Grimm leading to the Avengers Tower falling on Red Hulk.While Zero/One sends her assassin Black Fog to attack the weakened Red Hulk, a cloned M.O.D.O.K. who is free from his original incarnation of George Tarleton arrives to witness the destruction of his creation.

Ben Grimm hammers the Red Hulk into the airship carrying Zero/One and lands in Vermont. As the ship makes an emergency landing in New York City, M.O.D.O.K. takes on the ground forces of the Nazi army and discharges ZZZAX while Zero/One joins the battle with Black Fog.

Heading back to his old farm house, Thunderbolt Ross encounters Omegex for the first time. During the battle Black Fog who is currently aiding Red Hulk while General Fortean also arrives battling the Red Hulk alongside Omegex.

Zero/One puts the Red Hulk out-of-sync with space-time so he could answer her questions of why he is not using his absorption powers against Omegex. Ross reveals he will lose his humanity forever if he uses his absorption powers. Zero/One reveals Hulk Prime can go beyond his gamma stasis limit with emotionaltriggers, while Red Hulk needs to accumulate gamma to create hyperdense mass.

Zero/One removes the implants planted by General Fortean within the Red Hulk. Ross is able to change back to himself and confront Omegex as a man. Omegex leaves and the Watch Uatu reveals he did not do it out of revenge but to save a alien civilization from Omegex by allowing him to concentrate on one being. Jeff Parker has proven himself as a writer through carefully planning out the story ahead and bringing it to a wonderful and satisfying conclusion.
